DOSCH FOR MAYA USERES

Importing 3D-models into Maya

thumb01

If a Dosch Design product does not contain the
Maya files, we recommend to import the 3D-models,
using the ".3ds" format.

For best results, please download the free
"Bonus Tools for Maya" from the Alias website
- this contains a brand new 3ds importer.

DOSCH 3D

Conversion to other 3D-formats

The various 3D-formats (e.g. 3DS, Lightwave, VRML) provided with each Dosch 3D product can be converted into other formats not directly provided on our CD-ROM/DVDs through the use of special third-party 3D-conversion programs.

By means of such a conversion, 3D-models from Dosch Design can be used in just about every quality 3D- or CAD application available in the market. Please note the available 3D-formats, conversion properties and descriptions of each respective tool.

Polygon Reduction

With the help of the following tools the polygon count of any Dosch Design 3D-model can be reduced -if so desired- to the required target polygon count, for applications like real-time effects, gaming, mobile devices. This enables the user to alter Dosch Design 3D-models in a very individual way for optimal resolution, loading/transmission time etc. in the relevant application.
